Job Description
Job title: Junior Data Analyst Role Summary: Assist in delivering reliable, timely insights for Consumer functions by preparing data, building dashboards, and supporting senior analysts with analysis that informs Marketing, Sales, Trading, Digital, and Service decisions. Expactations: - Apply foundational SQL (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, filtering) to extract, clean, and transform data. - Perform data quality checks, reconcile sources, and flag anomalies. - Create clear visualizations and narratives to answer commercial queries. - Build and maintain QlikSense dashboards, refresh recurring reports, and troubleshoot BAU issues. - Collaborate in an agile squad, participate in sprint ceremonies, and translate stakeholder requirements into analytical tasks. - Continuously improve processes, automate manual tasks, and adopt best practices for code quality and governance. Key Responsibilities: - Extract, clean, transform, and validate data using SQL on GCP/BigQuery. - Conduct data quality checks, reconcile datasets, and document governance standards. - Support senior analysts with exploratory analysis and performance trend quantification. - Build, maintain, and troubleshoot QlikSense dashboards for operational and commercial teams. - Automate manual Excel‑based reporting where possible. - Engage with product owners, data engineers, and decision scientists in sprint planning and stand‑ups. - Identify opportunities for process simplification, data quality improvement, and automation. - Stay updated on industry analytics practices and BT cloud tooling. Required Skills: - Basic SQL proficiency (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, filtering). - Understanding of data structures, ETL, and analytical concepts. - Excel data manipulation and analysis experience. - Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to learn. - Effective communication of findings to nontechnical audiences. - Collaborative teamwork. - (Desirable) Experience with BigQuery, GCP, or similar cloud platforms. - (Desirable) QlikSense report building. - (Desirable) Python for data analysis or automation. - (Desirable) Familiarity with data governance, documentation, and version control (e.g., Git). Required Education & Certifications: - Relevant tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent. - No mandatory certifications; training will be provided for BigQuery, GCP, and QlikSense as needed.
