Job Description

**Job Title** Cloud Solutions Architect, Infrastructure **Role Summary** Pre‑sales field architect responsible for designing, implementing, and advising on Astronomer’s Apache Airflow‑based solutions for large enterprise customers in EMEA. Acts as the technical liaison between customers, sales, and product teams to ensure delivery of value‑driven, scalable data‑infrastructure solutions. **Expectations** - Deliver world‑class technical solutions that enable customers to scale data operations. - Travel as needed to support sales and customer engagements. - Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and support to align solution design with customer needs. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and architect Apache Airflow‑centric data infrastructure on Kubernetes (GKE/EKS/AKS/OpenShift). - Lead right‑size and deployment of Astronomer’s software at enterprise scale. - Conduct technical workshops, demos, and proof‑of‑concepts for prospects. - Mentor customers through migration, optimization, and best‑practice adoption. - Provide feedback to product and engineering on customer requirements and pain points. **Required Skills** - ≥4 years of experience in data infrastructure or equivalent technical role. - Strong Kubernetes expertise (GKE/EKS/AKS/OpenShift). - Proficient in Python or Go. - Solid understanding of network architecture and security. - Experience troubleshooting and scaling distributed systems. - Familiarity with at least one major Cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure) APIs/tools. - Customer‑facing communication skills – able to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. **Bonus Qualifications** - 1+ year of customer‑facing technical sales experience. - In‑depth knowledge of Apache Airflow or alternative workflow orchestrators (Dagster, Prefect, etc.). - Experience with infrastructure automation (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible). - Exposure to regulated data environments (e.g., financial, healthcare). - Familiarity with observability tools (ElasticSearch, Prometheus, Vault). **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - Relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications preferred (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
