Program Director – Technology & Delivery
**Role Summary**
Lead end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale retail modernization programs for a brick‑and‑mortar retailer. Drive transformation across merchandising, supply chain, store operations, and omnichannel customer experience using AI, data platforms, and cloud‑native engineering. Partner directly with C‑level executives to translate business strategy into executable technology roadmaps and ensure on‑time, on‑budget, high‑quality outcomes.
**Expactations**
- 12+ years of leadership in engineering or technology programs.
- Direct experience modernizing retail operations (grocery, big‑box, omnichannel).
- Proven record with merchandising, supply‑chain, POS/store systems, and digital commerce platforms.
- Executive‑level stakeholder management and communication.
- Hands‑on capability in high‑ambiguity transformation environments.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own delivery of multi‑workstream modernization projects across internal teams and external vendors.
- Act as primary executive partner for client CIO/CTO/CXO leadership.
- Lead engineering, data, and AI workstreams covering store systems, merchandising, supply chain, fulfillment, and customer experience.
- Translate strategic objectives into detailed, actionable engineering roadmaps.
- Drive modernization of legacy platforms into cloud‑native, data‑driven architectures.
- Govern program performance on budget, scope, schedule, and quality metrics.
- Lead steering committees and transformation planning sessions.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, architecture discipline, and DevOps maturity.
- Identify and remove delivery blockers across the organization.
- Collaborate with internal architects and engineering leads to ensure technical excellence.
- Support pre‑sales and growth initiatives by shaping solution strategies and delivery plans.
**Required Skills**
- Program management and multi‑team leadership.
- In‑depth knowledge of data platforms, analytics, and AI/automation in retail operations.
- Cloud modernization expertise (public, hybrid, multi‑cloud).
- Event‑driven and microservices architecture design.
- DevOps practices and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Executive‑level communication, stakeholder management, and presentation (Google Slides / PowerPoint).
- Technical writing and structured documentation.
- Ability to bridge business, operations, and technology domains.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Preferred certifications: PMP, Prince2, Agile/SAFe, Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), or DevOps.
