Job Title: Network and Security Engineer
Role Summary: Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures for large-scale IT environments, ensuring robust protection and optimal performance of network devices and services.
Expectations:
- Deliver secure network designs that meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Lead configuration, patching, and ongoing management of firewalls, proxies, and related security appliances.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network and application flow issues.
- Produce clear technical documentation and procedural guides.
- Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams in technical meetings and reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and configure secure network and security devices (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, proxy, etc.).
- Perform routine patching, updates, and performance tuning of network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network problems, including connectivity, latency, and application flow disruptions.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Implement network segmentation and secure Internet‑accessible application services in a financial services context.
- Participate in requirement analysis, proof‑of‑concept, product selection, deployment, and documentation cycles.
- Represent the network team in internal and external technical meetings.
Required Skills:
- Deep knowledge of network protocols: IPv4/IPv6, HTTP(S), FTP(S), SMTP, SSH, SSL/TLS, BGP, HSRP, VRRP.
- Hands‑on expertise with Palo Alto PanOS (firewalls, IDS/IPS, decryption, sandboxing) – PCNSE certification preferred.
- Cisco technologies: Umbrella, Wi‑Fi, ISE, IPSec.
- Algosec tools: Firewall Analyzer & Fireflow, ServiceNow integration.
- Automation and configuration management: Terraform, GitLab, Ansible.
- Strong documentation, project management, and team collaboration skills.
- Fluent in technical English; mandatory proficiency in French or Dutch.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in complex, large‑scale IT environments.
- PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Security Expert) certification preferred.
