Job Description: Job title: Machine Learning Scientist Role Summary: Design, prototype, and deploy large-scale transformer‑based and reinforcement learning models that enable closed‑loop automated decision‑making for complex industrial systems. Translate research into production‑ready solutions, manage model lifecycle, and contribute to scientific publications and open‑source initiatives. Expectations: - Deliver end‑to‑end ML solutions from R&D to production deployment. - Scale models to high‑performance, large‑data environments. - Maintain code quality, documentation, and reproducibility. - Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet enterprise‑grade objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and fine‑tune transformer and multimodal models for physical system understanding. - Implement reinforcement learning pipelines for exploration/exploitation in manufacturing contexts. - Optimize model training, inference, and deployment pipelines using PyTorch, TensorFlow, DeepSpeed, Ray, or PyTorch Lightning. - Design experiments, perform Bayesian uncertainty estimation, and apply active or online learning techniques. - Monitor model performance in production, troubleshoot drift, and iterate improvements. - Author research papers, patents, or open‑source releases to share advancements. Required Skills: - Proficiency in Python and deep‑learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow); experience with DeepSpeed, Ray, PyTorch Lightning. - Expertise in building high‑performance, large‑scale ML systems. - Strong software engineering fundamentals: clean code, modular design, version control. - Knowledge of reinforcement learning, active learning, causal inference, Bayesian methods, and experimental design. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative field. - Preferred: PhD or equivalent research experience in machine learning, reinforcement learning, or statistical modeling.
