Job Description
**Job title**: Senior Financial Planning Analyst (Chemical Manufacturing) **Role Summary**: Provide strategic financial analysis and planning for the Manufacturing and EH&S functions, driving profitability, cost control, and long‑term performance through budgeting, forecasting, capital investment evaluation, and cross‑functional initiatives. **Expactations**: * Own functional financial reporting and compliance (SOX, internal controls). * Act as financial steward, managing risks, assets, and cash‑flow optimization. * Lead and influence senior leadership decisions with data‑driven insights. * Deliver high‑quality, timely analyses, forecasts, and strategic recommendations. **Key Responsibilities**: 1. **Annual/5‑Year Planning (15%)** – Lead budgeting and long‑term strategic planning for manufacturing and EH&S; challenge assumptions, coordinate deliverables, and communicate to senior leadership. 2. **Monthly Close & Results Analysis (10%)** – Review actuals vs. forecasts, analyze variances, draft communication for segment managers and senior leadership. 3. **Monthly Forecast Updates (10%)** – Evaluate forecast submissions, interrogate assumptions, drive corrective actions, and report updates to senior leadership. 4. **Capital, M&A & R&D Analysis (10%)** – Evaluate capital investment proposals, M&A opportunities, divestitures, and R&D pipelines; prepare analytical guidance and presentations for ELT/BOD. 5. **Cost & Working Capital Optimization** – Lead initiatives to improve accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and overall operating fixed costs. 6. **Cross‑Functional Collaboration** – Partner with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, Internal Controls, and business units on integrated business planning, competitive analysis, and process improvements. 7. **Governance & Controls** – Ensure adherence to internal control frameworks, provide support to audits, and maintain governance of financial reporting. **Required Skills**: * Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills. * Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term strategic planning. * Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations and EH&S cost structures. * Proficiency with SAP/ERP, Excel (pivot tables, VBA), and BI tools (e.g., Power BI). * Effective written and oral communication; ability to present complex data to executives. * Leadership and stakeholder‑management capabilities across functional teams. * Understanding of SOX, internal controls, and financial compliance. **Required Education & Certifications**: * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred). * Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or equivalent finance credential strongly preferred. * Minimum 5–7 years of senior financial planning/analysis experience in manufacturing or chemical industry.
