Job Description

**Job Title:** Backend Software Engineer (Node.js) **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend microservices and APIs for high‑traffic retail technology platforms. Work within cross‑functional agile teams to deliver cloud‑native solutions that support web and mobile applications. **Expectations:** - 3‑5+ years of professional experience with TypeScript/Node.js. - Proven ability to build and operate microservices architectures at scale. - Strong understanding of API design (GraphQL & REST) and data store technologies. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud environments (preferably Azure). **Key Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to design robust backend systems. - Develop, deploy, and maintain microservices and API endpoints using modern best practices. - Implement and evolve GraphQL and REST interfaces for seamless service integration. - Ensure code quality through unit/integration testing, code reviews, and CI/CD automation. - Participate in performance tuning, monitoring, and incident resolution for production services. - Contribute to infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and containerization efforts where applicable. **Required Skills:** - TypeScript & Node.js development. - Microservices architecture design and implementation. - GraphQL and REST API design. - SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases. - CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps). - Version control with Git. - Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - No specific certifications required; cloud certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure Fundamentals) are a plus.
