Job Description
**Job Title** Lead DevOps Engineer **Role Summary** Design, build, and maintain Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure supporting data ingestion pipelines and SaaS applications. Lead and mentor a cross‑functional team of 3‑7 engineers, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and observable while aligning infrastructure with product and data needs. **Expectations** - Provide technical leadership and people management (1:1s, sprint planning, feedback). - Deliver robust, automated CI/CD pipelines and reliable production monitoring. - Operate effectively in a fast‑moving startup environment, handling shifting priorities and limited resources. - Collaborate with product and data teams to match infrastructure to business requirements. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead and mentor a small team of data and application engineers. - Architect, deploy, and manage Azure services (Container Apps, Static Web Apps, networking, secrets, monitoring) using IaC. - Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines integrating multiple sources. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments. - Implement comprehensive observability (alerts, dashboards, log aggregation, tracing) to ensure production reliability. - Continuously improve system scalability, performance, and fault tolerance. - Partner with product and data stakeholders to align infrastructure with roadmap and customer needs. **Required Skills** - Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (deployment, networking, security, monitoring, IaC). - Proficiency in Docker (Dockerfile authoring, image optimization). - Advanced Git usage (branching, merging vs. rebasing, pull‑request workflow). - Hands‑on experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions). - Expertise in observability tools and practices (metrics, logging, alerting, tracing). - Demonstrated ability to lead small engineering teams (3‑7 members). - Excellent communication, mentorship, and collaborative skills. - Ability to thrive in a high‑pace, resource‑constrained startup setting. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Preferred: Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
