Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Analyst Intern – Marketing CPG **Role Summary:** Support the Marketing, Communications, and Design teams by preparing and analyzing sales and consumer data, building dashboards, and generating insights to drive brand and retailer strategies. Participate in on‑site events (≈30% of time) and office‑based analytics work (≈70%). **Expectations:** - Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends for event support; two days off per week provided. - Travel between Plymouth and Elk River, MN offices and event sites using personal vehicle (driver’s license required). - Maintain professional, detail‑oriented output and adhere to food‑safety guidelines when handling product samples. **Key Responsibilities:** - Pull, clean, and update daily/weekly sales reports for Sales & Marketing teams. - Develop and maintain performance dashboards and tracking tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI/Tableau preferred). - Analyze syndicated, panel, and internal data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. - Produce retailer “selling stories” using data visualizations to highlight category and brand opportunities. - Stay informed on industry trends and competitive activity to support recommendations. - Assist with broader Marketing initiatives and ad‑hoc projects as needed. **Required Skills:** - Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas) and PowerPoint presentation skills. - Strong analytical mindset with ability to clean and interpret large data sets. - Effective communication and storytelling with data. - Proficiency in data‑visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) – a plus. - Familiarity with CPG data sources (Nielsen, SPINS, IRI, Numerator) – a plus. - Self‑starter, collaborative, adaptable, and receptive to feedback. - Ability to follow event set‑up instructions and maintain attention to detail. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently a rising senior (class of 2026) in a relevant field: Economics, Statistics/Data Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Business, Management, Advertising, Entrepreneurship, Journalism, Consumer Behavior, or related discipline. - Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for travel between sites. - No formal certifications required; experience with data‑analytics tools preferred.
