Job Description
Job Title: External Sales Representative – Construction Role Summary: Lead sales growth within the construction sector by managing existing client portfolios, prospecting new business, and closing strategic deals through technical solution selling and on‑site engagement. Expectations: - Deliver measurable sales results and meet or exceed quarterly targets. - Operate independently with strong initiative and time‑management. - Travel regularly to construction sites and client locations. - Maintain a professional brand representing the client. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain and expand relationships with current clients in assigned territory. - Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting and market research. - Conduct regular site visits to understand project needs and build rapport with contractors and project managers. - Recommend appropriate technical solutions, prepare and deliver tailored proposals, and negotiate terms to close sales. - Follow up on leads and manage the sales pipeline to close deals on schedule. - Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, technical, operations) to ensure service delivery and customer satisfaction. - Represent the client in a professional manner at all interactions. Required Skills: - Proven experience in external sales, preferably within construction or building materials. - Knowledge of construction sites, project phases, and industry terminology. - Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service abilities. - Self‑directed, proactive, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client sites. Required Education & Certifications: - Vocational training, diploma, or degree in sales, construction, engineering, or related field. - Any relevant sales or construction certification (e.g., Certified Sales Professional, Construction Project Management). - Preference for candidates with a background in customer‑facing roles.
