Job Description
**Job Title:** Backend & Interoperability Developer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend microservices and semantic data platforms for medical imaging and data integration. Build APIs, implement knowledge‑graph reasoning, and ensure high‑quality, containerized delivery within a distributed architecture. **Expectations:** - Deliver robust, production‑grade code with unit/integration tests. - Participate in architecture decisions and continuous platform improvement. - Communicate technical concepts clearly to cross‑functional teams. - Stay current with emerging technologies in knowledge graphs and microservices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and implement backend microservices handling OWL/RDF‑star data. - Develop REST and/or GraphQL APIs for data access and functionality exposure. - Integrate RDF/OWL libraries, build semantic reasoning modules, and write SPARQL queries. - Collaborate with architecture team to create distributed, scalable, resilient solutions. - Manage data stores (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, GraphDB) and ensure efficient data handling. - Write and maintain API documentation, UML models, and feature specifications. - Operate version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines using Docker (and optionally Kubernetes). - Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to technology scouting. **Required Skills:** - Strong backend development experience in Java, Kotlin, or Python. - Hands‑on expertise with knowledge graphs, RDF/OWL databases, and SPARQL. - Proficiency in microservice frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, FastAPI). - Solid understanding of REST and GraphQL API design best practices. - Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). - Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, GraphDB). - Excellent problem‑solving, debugging, and troubleshooting abilities. - Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork across interdisciplinary groups. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Docker Certified Associate, Kubernetes Administrator) are a plus but not mandatory.
