Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Full‑stack engineer for a cloud‑based fintech platform serving public‑sector finance teams. Works remotely on a Ruby on Rails + React monolith, contributing to front‑end, back‑end, and database code, and participates throughout the software development lifecycle. **Expectations:** - Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience. - Proficiency in Ruby (Rails) or React (TypeScript). - Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly across product, design, and non‑technical stakeholders. - Ownership of code quality, testing, and reliable deployments. **Key Responsibilities:** - Participate in all SDLC phases: solution design, ticket creation/breakdown, coding, code review, deployment, monitoring, and reporting. - Write and maintain full‑stack features for a Ruby on Rails JSON API and React SPA. - Develop and execute unit/integration tests; ensure test coverage before merging. - Deploy code via GitLab CI/CD pipelines; use feature flags for continuous integration. - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and industry specialists to define requirements and deliver functional solutions. - Contribute to database schema design and PostgreSQL performance tuning. - Work with the infrastructure team as needed for monitoring and production support. **Required Skills:** - Ruby on Rails development (RESTful JSON APIs). - React, TypeScript, and MUI component library. - PostgreSQL database design and query optimization. - AWS fundamentals (hosting, services). - GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes. - Experience with feature‑flag systems. - Strong problem‑solving and debugging abilities. - Effective written and verbal communication across cross‑functional teams. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field **or** equivalent practical experience. - No specific certifications required.
