**Job title**: ML Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and deploy end‑to‑end machine learning models for heavy and mobile work machines operating in real‑time, edge AI environments. Manage the complete ML lifecycle from data acquisition to real–time inference on field equipment using Microsoft Azure.
**Expectations**
- Deliver functional, low‑latency ML solutions that support real‑time decision‑making on mobile machinery.
- Integrate models into operational equipment and validate performance on actual work machines.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to translate functional requirements into ML features.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Acquire, clean, and preprocess diverse sensor, telemetry, and camera data for training.
2. Select, design, and train appropriate ML models (e.g., classification, regression, object detection).
3. Fine‑tune models, assess accuracy, and optimize for deployment on edge devices.
4. Deploy models through Azure ML services, orchestrate pipelines, and ensure real‑time operation.
5. Develop new functionalities such as object recognition, drilling operation prediction, and other predictive analytics for heavy machinery.
6. Test models on real equipment, gather performance data, and iterate improvements.
7. Maintain documentation, version control, and knowledge transfer to support collaboration and scalability.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience developing & deploying ML models for real‑time edge AI (sensor or vision‑based).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure ML platform and associated services.
- Proficiency in programming (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, or equivalent).
- Experience with data pipelines, feature engineering, and model optimization.
- Ability to work with telemetry, sensor data, and machine‑vision workflows.
- Good command of English for documentation and collaboration.
**Preferred (meritorious) Skills**
- Background in heavy or mobile work machines, industrial automation, or related domains.
- Experience with camera‑based data and machine‑vision systems.
- Familiarity with measurement data, controller telemetry, and industrial protocols.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate) are advantageous.
