Job Description

Job Title: Senior Geospatial Software Engineer Role Summary: Design, implement, and maintain production-level data pipelines for processing hyperspectral imagery (HSI) from satellite platforms, translating research algorithms into operational services and providing APIs for internal and external customers. Expectations: Deliver reliable, scalable geospatial processing solutions; collaborate with product, payload, and analytics teams; plan and decompose features for iterative delivery; adhere to production coding standards and security/compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities - Implement image‑processing algorithms within an automated production environment. - Build, deploy, and manage tools for system monitoring, imagery cataloging, and pipeline orchestration. - Develop RESTful APIs to expose processed imagery and derived insights. - Collaborate with product owners to prioritize features and with engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. - Integrate research algorithms from payload and analytics stakeholders into the SIGMA platform. - Plan and partition features into incremental releases. Required Skills - 5+ years Python geospatial development (GDAL, Rasterio, xarray, etc.). - Proficiency with cloud deployment (AWS, Linux) and orchestration services (Step Functions, Fargate, Lambda). - Experience building production‑grade code, CI/CD, and monitoring. - Strong communication and remote collaboration skills. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geospatial Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience acceptable).
