Job Description
Job Title: Cyber Security Analyst Role Summary: Protect and defend U.S. Department of Defense information systems by ensuring availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non‑repudiation. Execute vulnerability analysis, incident response, and risk mitigation in a DoD operational environment. Collaborate with federal stakeholders and maintain RMF artifacts to support compliance and accreditation. Expectations: * Maintain active DoD SECRET security clearance and comply with all background check requirements. * Demonstrate U.S. citizenship. * Work primarily on‑site Teams with minimal travel. * Support ongoing cybersecurity operations in a defense setting. Key Responsibilities: 1. Analyze networks for vulnerabilities and reduce breach risk. 2. Develop and implement scanning, certification, and contingency plans. 3. Produce Information Assurance documentation: C&A Plan, Vulnerability Management Plan, RMF Implementation Plan, System Security Plan, Contingency Plan. 4. Resolve incidents and breaches, mitigating threats and informing stakeholders. 5. Maintain RMF artifacts and coordinate with accrediting authorities. 6. Evaluate systems using automated tools (SCAP utilities, Nessus, ACAS) and manual reviews of DoD STIGs. 7. Ensure compliance with IT and cybersecurity policies, including CARS. 8. Support development of cybersecurity plans for new operational systems to achieve Authority to Operate. Required Skills: * 3+ years in DoD IT environments, vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, ST&E, contingency planning, firewall policy, ports, and protocols. * Proficiency with Windows and Linux OS (incl. CentOS, RedHat). * Experience with DoD Critical Program Protection (CPI) process. * Familiarity with RMF and DoD STIGs. * Strong knowledge of networking protocols and Windows Server / SQL Server. * Ability to write and communicate technical documentation. * U.S. citizenship and DoD SECRET clearance required. Required Education & Certifications: * B.S. in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related engineering discipline from an ABET‐accredited institution, GPA ≥ 3.0. * Current cybersecurity certifications allowing IAT Level II access (e.g., Security+, CISSP). * Current Windows or Linux OS related certification. ---
