Job Title: Analytics Engineer (9‑month FTC)
Role Summary:
Act as a bridge between business units, Insight Analytics, and Data Engineering to design, build, and maintain scalable data assets that enable data‑driven decision making. Lead the creation of self‑serve analytics solutions, support system migrations, and drive internal data initiatives such as governance and observability.
Expectations:
- Deliver end‑to‑end data products using BigQuery, dbt, and Looker within a fast‑paced, agile environment.
- Partner with Sales, Commercial, Marketing, and cross‑functional squads to identify opportunities for improved KPI tracking and business insights.
- Champion best‑practice data sources, services, and tools across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data models and transformations in modern cloud warehouses (BigQuery/Snowflake).
- Develop and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and data visualisations in Looker/LookML.
- Conduct data quality monitoring, observability, and governance activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and validate data accuracy.
- Participate in chapter activities: demos, knowledge sharing, and skill development.
Required Skills:
- Advanced SQL (large, complex datasets).
- Proficiency with dbt, BigQuery, and Looker (LookML).
- Data visualisation expertise to translate insights into business actions.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and commercial awareness.
- Attention to detail, high quality standards, and adaptability to agile workflows.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Machine Learning, or a quantitative discipline.
- Relevant certifications in data engineering/analytics (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, dbt certification) are a plus.
