Job Description
**Job Title** Care Assistant (Night Shift) **Role Summary** Provide compassionate, person‑centred care to residents during night hours. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to maintain safety, dignity and independence of residents. **Expectations** - Demonstrate empathy and a warm, supportive attitude. - Maintain a positive, can‑do approach. - Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families and colleagues. - Adapt to changing circumstances and new tasks each day. - Comply with safeguarding and health‑and‑safety procedures. **Key Responsibilities** - Assist residents with personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting) and feeding during night hours. - Support mobility and positioning to reduce risk of falls or injuries. - Monitor vital signs, medication schedules and general well‑being, reporting changes promptly. - Maintain a clean, safe, and comforting environment, including housekeeping tasks where required. - Encourage and facilitate resident independence and participation in activities. - Record observations and care activities accurately in the resident care plan. - Respond to emergencies and alarms in accordance with protocols. - Promote a calm, reassuring atmosphere for residents and staff during night duties. **Required Skills** - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Empathy, compassion, and a team‑working mindset. - Ability to remain calm and proactive in unforeseen situations. - Attention to detail and good organisational skills. - Basic computer literacy for record‑keeping. **Required Education & Certifications** - No formal education required; entry‑level training acceptable. - Completion of NVQ Level 1 or Level 2 in Health and Social Care (preferred). - Valid background check or clearance to work with adults. - Willingness to undergo ongoing training and development.
