**Job Title:** Junior Machine Vision Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and deploy custom machine vision systems for industrial automation projects. Translate customer requirements into technical specifications, oversee hardware/software procurement, and ensure solutions meet industry standards and manufacturing readiness. **Expactations:** - Deliver production‑ready machine vision solutions within specified timeframes. - Serve as the primary technical contact for vision projects, handling risk assessment and escalation. - Collaborate across engineering, procurement, and sales teams to align on technical and commercial objectives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Define project scope in partnership with customers and sales leadership. - Design optical configurations, lighting, and camera setups to meet inspection requirements. - Conduct sample testing, proofs of concept, and verification of design proposals. - Prepare technical specifications, bills of material, and documentation for vendor selection. - Order, evaluate, and validate hardware and software components against requirements. - Oversee testing, installation, and hand‑over to production, ensuring compliance with specs. - Act as escalation point during build, installation, and warranty phases. - Liaise with vendors for component selection and stay updated on emerging vision technologies. - Provide training, upskill colleagues, and support technical sales meetings. **Required Skills:** - Experience with machine vision platforms (Cognex, Keyence, Halcon, OpenCV, TensorFlow). - Programming in C#, C++, or Python; object‑oriented development. - Understanding of computer vision fundamentals: image acquisition, optics, lighting, algorithm development, object detection, segmentation, recognition, AI neural networks, 3D imaging, metrology. - Ability to analyze procedures, propose improvements, and document designs. - Fluent English; proficiency in Dutch and/or French; German knowledge preferred. - Availability for evening/weekend work, domestic and international travel. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering (vision components preferred).
