Cloud Native Engineer (AWS)
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and operate secure, scalable cloud‑native applications and platforms for national‑security and public‑sector clients. Responsibilities span software engineering, DevOps/platform engineering, and solution architecture within AWS (and Azure) environments, focusing on microservices, event‑driven design, CI/CD automation, and cloud security.
**Expectations**

- Collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable designs.
- Demonstrate adaptability in a rapidly growing consultancy, contributing to a culture of simplicity, resilience, and impact.
- Maintain active DV clearance and comply with national‑security standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Software Engineering** – Build Java (Spring Boot) microservices, REST/APIs, and event‑driven components; develop full‑stack features with React; work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and distributed data patterns.
2. **DevOps/Platform Engineering** – Design and maintain Docker/Kubernetes clusters; implement IaC and CI/CD pipelines; manage cloud environments (AWS/Azure); ensure observability, reliability, and security.
3. **Solution Architecture** – Define cloud‑native architectures, select appropriate patterns (DDD, event‑driven, service mesh), lead technical decisions; translate complex requirements into durable, scalable solutions.
**Required Skills**
- **Software**: Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API design, microservices architecture, React (full‑stack experience optional).
- **DevOps**: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), cloud platform proficiency (AWS, Azure).
- **Architecture**: Distributed systems design, event‑driven architecture, DDD, scalability, resilience, security best practices, observability.
- **Databases**: SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) expertise.
- **Soft Skills**: Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders, proactive problem solving, adaptability in a consultancy setting.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance.
- Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) are an advantage but not mandatory.
