Job Description
Job Title: Construction Project Manager Intern (Summer 2026) Role Summary: Hands‑on internship supporting senior project managers through all phases of a construction project—from estimation and scheduling to design coordination, bidding, shop‑drawing review, billing, and site supervision—while applying engineering knowledge to solve client needs. Expactations: - Maintain a minimum 3.0 / 4.0 GPA. - Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s engineering program (civil, structural, construction, or related). - Attend weekly training sessions and complete all assigned coursework. - Travel to job sites as required and comply with safety and company policies. Key Responsibilities: - Draft cost estimates and assign dollar values to project proposals. - Develop and update subcontractor schedules to meet project deadlines. - Participate in design meetings with owners, architects, and structural engineers to capture requirements. - Issue bid instructions, schedule, and drawings; evaluate subcontractor proposals; award subcontracts. - Review shop drawings and submittals, coordinating with subcontractors on upcoming work. - Assist in billing, change‑order processing, pay requests, and pay applications. - Conduct site visits with the Project Manager and Superintendent to monitor progress. - Engage in weekly training sessions covering building trades and business operations. Required Skills: - Basic construction cost estimating. - Scheduling proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera). - Strong written and verbal communication. - Detail‑oriented review of drawings and documentation. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Familiarity with construction documents and terminology. Required Education & Certifications: - Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s engineering program or related field. - Minimum GPA of 3.0 / 4.0. - No specific certifications required; prior industry internship experience is a plus.
