Job Title: Chief Operating Officer – United States
Role Summary: Executive leader responsible for the U.S. organization’s operational excellence, commercial performance, and strategic direction, reporting directly to the CEO. Oversees Commercial, Medical Affairs and related functions, drives growth, M&A, and transformation, and represents the company with external stakeholders.
Expectations:
• Deliver measurable share‑of‑wallet and portfolio expansion in primary therapeutic areas.
• Maintain P&L discipline and ensure financial targets are met.
• Champion a high‑achieving, inclusive culture that aligns operations with patient‑centric values.
• Execute enterprise‑wide transformation initiatives to scale agility and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
• Define and implement U.S. business strategy in alignment with global priorities.
• Partner with CEO to set vision, operating plans, and performance metrics.
• Lead enterprise governance, risk management, and compliance across all U.S. activities.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment, disciplined execution, and data‑driven decision making.
2. Commercial & Market
• Own commercial strategy, positioning, launch readiness, and market access tactics.
• Coordinate commercial initiatives with Medical Affairs, R&D, and regulatory teams.
• Shape payer, access, and pricing strategies that balance value and financial sustainability.
3. Medical Affairs
• Provide strategic oversight of scientific engagement, evidence generation, and compliance.
• Serve as liaison between R&D, clinical, and medical teams to align program strategies.
4. Transformation & Growth
• Lead M&A integration and rapid growth initiatives.
• Implement digital & AI tools to enhance operational efficiency and commercial effectiveness.
• Foster continuous improvement and innovation across the organization.
Required Skills
• Proven executive leadership in a high‑growth U.S. pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
• Deep understanding of U.S. regulatory, payer, and market access landscapes.
• Strong P&L ownership, financial acumen, and performance‑management expertise.
• Experience with cross‑functional governance, enterprise transformation, and M&A integration.
• Effective communicator and stakeholder‑management skills with senior external partners.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and patient‑centric values.
• Knowledge of digital technologies, AI, and data analytics for business optimization.
Required Education & Certifications
• Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PhD, or equivalent) and MBA or Master’s in Business/Management preferred.
• Proven track record of operating at senior executive level in regulated industries.
• Regulatory, compliance, or certification knowledge (e.g., FDA, ISO, GxP) considered an asset.
