Job Title: Head of Engineering
Job Description: Job Title: Head of Engineering Role Summary: Lead the engineering department of a high‑value machinery manufacturer, shaping strategy, driving innovation and ensuring the design and delivery of compliant, safe, and cost‑efficient products. Expectations: - Strategic leadership within an international, fast‑growing organisation. - Foster a culture of safety, innovation and continuous improvement. - Deliver on product development, engineering strategy and team culture. Key Responsibilities: - Build and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team, cultivating talent and a safety‑first mindset. - Oversee end‑to‑end machinery design and development, ensuring full compliance with UK and international safety standards. - Identify and adopt emerging technologies that enhance performance, functionality and cost‑efficiency. - Coordinate engineering support in customer‑facing activities (service, spares, installation, commissioning). - Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, tools and methodologies. - Report directly to the senior leadership team on engineering strategy, performance and resource planning. Required Skills: - Senior leadership experience in design and manufacturing engineering. - Deep knowledge of machinery design and related safety legislation. - Proven ability to implement and manage complex engineering or capital projects, preferably with international customers. - Strong grasp of international standards (CE, UL, UKCA) and compliance processes. - Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. - Exposure to (or knowledge of) ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, or similar engineering quality standards is an advantage (not mandatory).
