Job Description
**Job Title:** Financial Analyst I **Role Summary:** Entry‑level financial analyst supporting the Director of Finance in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting for a company delivering complex environmental services and government contracts. Provides data-driven insights to improve project profitability and operational efficiency. **Expactations:** - Deliver accurate financial analyses and reports within tight deadlines. - Assist in bid and proposal preparation with reliable cost estimates. - Maintain compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements. - Collaborate across project teams and support cash‑flow management. **Key Responsibilities:** - Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data for budgeting and forecasting. - Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, revenue projections, and cost analyses. - Support development of bid/proposal documents by supplying financial data and estimates. - Create presentations and summaries for senior leadership. - Maintain financial records, databases, and ensure data accuracy. - Review and validate invoices, expense reports, and other transactions. - Participate in internal and external audits; ensure compliance with controls. - Monitor cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and working capital needs. - Track project costs versus forecasts to assess profitability. - Provide financial insights to project managers for strategic decisions. - Perform additional administrative and financial tasks as assigned. **Required Skills:** - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools. - Ability to interpret and clearly present financial data. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - High attention to detail and strong organizational/time‑management skills. - Self‑starter, able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. - Team‑oriented with solid interpersonal skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. - 1–3 years of experience in an analyst, accounting, or financial controls role (or equivalent internship experience). - Valid state driver’s license meeting company driving policy. - Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screenings.
