Job Description
Job Title: Senior Manager – Insights & Innovation Role Summary: Lead consumer insights, brand strategy, and innovation initiatives for a portfolio of pet brands, translating data into growth-driving actions and managing brand P&L. Expectations: - Own brand profitability while delivering double‑digit growth. - Build and maintain scalable insight frameworks that directly inform strategy and portfolio decisions. - Drive cross‑functional collaboration to bring new products from ideation to market. - Mentor a high‑performing brand team and act as a strategic partner on enterprise initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Design and execute qualitative and quantitative consumer insight programs; synthesize findings into actionable brand and marketing strategies. - Provide senior leadership with data‑driven updates on consumer trends, brand health, and portfolio performance. - Develop customer segmentation models to optimize media spend and messaging effectiveness. - Own brand P&L, overseeing pricing, promotion, portfolio management, and channel strategy. - Lead integrated marketing plans across paid, earned, and owned channels to increase awareness, household penetration, and loyalty. - Build and manage an innovation pipeline across categories and brands, partnering with cross‑functional teams from ideation to commercialization. - Identify category expansion opportunities aligned with consumer needs and growth goals. - Conduct portfolio optimization and SKU rationalization to strengthen performance and align with channel dynamics. - Coach and develop brand management team members; foster a culture of accountability and high performance. - Serve as a strategic partner on high‑priority organizational projects. Required Skills: - 8–10 years of progressive experience in brand strategy, consumer insights, or innovation within CPG. - Proven design and leadership of consumer insight programs (qualitative & quantitative). - Strong background in brand P&L management, including pricing, promotion, and channel strategy. - Experience building and managing an innovation pipeline, including category expansion. - Expertise in portfolio optimization and SKU rationalization. - Advanced customer segmentation skills and application to media & messaging. - Excellent cross‑functional partnership and stakeholder management abilities. - Leadership and coaching experience with a track record of developing high‑performing teams. - Analytical rigor combined with strategic thinking and brand storytelling. - Passion for pet products and pet care. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred). - Relevant certifications in market research, brand strategy, or analytics (e.g., SPHR, MSA, or equivalent) are a plus.
