Job Description

Job Title: Software Engineer II – TypeScript/NodeJS Role Summary: Full‑stack engineer responsible for building and maintaining Makeswift’s API, infrastructure, and core integrations. Drives reliability, performance, and scalability across front‑end (React) and back‑end (Node.js) components, while expanding test suites, reducing technical debt, and enhancing observability. Expectations: - 2‑4 years of full‑stack development experience. - Strong production knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Node.js. - Proficiency in writing automated tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, etc.). - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with clear communication. - Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ownership of code quality and maintainability. Key Responsibilities: - Expand end‑to‑end test coverage to improve platform stability. - Identify, triage, and fix bugs across front‑end and back‑end systems. - Refactor components and services to reduce technical debt and enhance maintainability. - Build and improve observability tools to aid issue detection and diagnosis. - Implement performance optimizations in UI and API layers. - Optimize database queries and improve API performance. - Contribute to documentation of best practices and technical specifications. - Assist in authorization refactor projects and instrumentation improvements.
