**Job Title**
Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Skilled Nursing/Assisted Living Finance
**Role Summary**
Provide immediate, hands‑on leadership for the finance and accounting function during a critical transition. Stabilize operations, improve team cohesion, and ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and debt covenant adherence while establishing a foundation for future IPO readiness.
**Expectations**
- Operate on‑site, visible, and hands‑on with the finance team.
- Deliver a reliable month‑end close, financial reporting, and lender compliance.
- Assess and enhance accounting policies, internal controls, processes, and technology.
- Partner with executive leadership on acquisition integration and future finance strategy.
- Lay groundwork for IPO readiness, including controllership maturity and documentation standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Lead and stabilize the accounting organization amid turnover and growth.
2. Oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, ensuring continuity and discipline.
3. Manage monthly close, financial statements, debt covenant reporting, and compliance.
4. Coach and mentor team members, fostering accountability and skill development.
5. Evaluate current accounting structure, talent, processes, and technology stack.
6. Identify gaps and implement improvements in policies, close procedures, controls, and organization design.
7. Support acquisition planning and integration readiness.
8. Initiate an IPO‑readiness framework and recommend scalability enhancements.
9. Identify external advisory needs and serve as a credible partner to senior leadership.
**Required Skills**
- Senior finance leadership (CFO, Interim CFO, or equivalent) in skilled nursing/assisted living.
- Deep knowledge of multi‑state healthcare operations with multiple sites.
- Strong accounting, controllership, and hands‑on finance background.
- Proven ability to stabilize teams during turnover, rapid growth, or disruption.
- Expertise in monthly financial reporting, debt covenant monitoring, and lender‑sensitive compliance.
- Rapid assessment of organizational gaps and implementation of practical solutions.
- Leadership presence, on‑site visibility, and hands‑on management style.
- Experience with acquisition integration and scaling organizations (preferred).
- Familiarity with IPO or public‑company preparation (helpful but not required).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other professional accounting credential strongly preferred.
