**Job Title:** AI Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Develop and deploy production‑grade AI solutions for retail applications, focusing on large language model (LLM) integration, prompt and context engineering, and scalable system design. Work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to prototype, test, and monitor generative AI workflows. **Expactations:** - Deliver high‑quality Java code and AI prototypes with minimal supervision. - Communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineering and non‑technical stakeholders. - Operate effectively in an ambiguous, fast‑moving environment and drive projects from concept to production. **Key Responsibilities:** - Write production‑level Java applications, leveraging AI tools where appropriate. - Design, test, and optimize prompts for LLMs such as Claude, Gemini, and OpenAI models. - Engineer context and data pipelines to feed LLMs with relevant information. - Build agentic workflows and monitoring frameworks to evaluate LLM performance. - Analyze large datasets to inform model improvements and business use cases. - Architect scalable, maintainable solutions that can be deployed across multiple retail clients. - Contribute thought leadership on LLM best practices and usage patterns. **Required Skills:** - 5+ years software development experience with strong Java proficiency. - Hands‑on experience with LLM APIs (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI) and prompt engineering. - Solid understanding of system design, API integration, scalability, and open‑source tools. - Ability to create structured test cases and metrics for model evaluation. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Self‑directed, comfortable working with ambiguous product definitions. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field (preferred). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Java, AWS Machine Learning) are a plus but not mandatory.
