Job Title: Technology Architect – Data Engineering Role Summary: Lead the design and delivery of data engineering solutions using Medallion architecture on Azure. Own end‑to‑end technical architecture, create data models, optimize transformations, and guide the engineering team through development, testing, and deployment. Expectations: • 6‑month contract with hybrid work (12 days WFO/month). • Deliver architecture designs, performance optimizations, and CI/CD pipelines. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and document technical architecture using Medallion principles and Azure services. 2. Produce conceptual diagrams, source‑to‑target mappings, and dimensional data models. 3. Mentor and lead a data engineering team in ADF, Databricks, PySpark, Python, JSON, and YAML development. 4. Implement performance tuning and data transformation optimization strategies. 5. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Workflows to deploy code artifacts. 6. Collaborate with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to align on requirements and solutions. 7. (Optional) Develop and maintain Log Analytics dashboards and KQL queries. Required Skills: * 10+ years of data engineering experience. * Hands‑on expertise in PySpark, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and SQL. * Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, normalization, schema design, and data harmonization. * Proficiency with data modeling tools such as Erwin. * Ability to create clear technical documentation and diagrams. * Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and client‑facing skills. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
