Job Description

**Job Title:** Web Developer (Freelance, Remote) **Role Summary:** Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive websites and web applications. Collaborate with designers, marketers, and IT to deliver high‑performance, secure, and accessible digital solutions for clients. **Expectations:** - 20–40 hrs/week for the first 90 days; thereafter ~5 hrs/week based on workload. - Deliver quality code on schedule, adhere to security, accessibility, and SEO standards. - Communicate progress, participate in sprint meetings, and provide technical documentation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build and maintain front‑end interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework (React, Angular, or Vue.js). - Develop back‑end services, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and database schemas using Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar. - Ensure responsive, cross‑browser/device compatibility and UI/UX feasibility. - Conduct site audits, performance tuning, caching, and SEO optimizations. - Manage version control (Git) and deploy via CI/CD pipelines. - Implement security best practices, authentication, and compliance with ADA (WCAG 2.1), GDPR, CCPA. - Collaborate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, and sprint planning. - Produce technical documentation and contribute to architecture decisions. **Required Skills:** - 3–5 years web development experience. - Strong front‑end skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, responsive frameworks. - Proficiency in at least one front‑end framework (React, Angular, Vue.js). - Proficiency in at least one server‑side language (Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby). - RESTful API development, JSON, AJAX. - Git/GitHub/GitLab version control. - Understanding of UX/UI principles, web accessibility, SEO. - Experience with WordPress. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or related field **or** equivalent professional experience. *Preferred (not mandatory):* DevOps tools (Docker, Jenkins), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), unit/E2E testing, Agile/Scrum experience, AI coding assistants, graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite/Figma).
