Divisional Leader of Marketing
**Role Summary**
Senior marketing leader responsible for developing and executing multi‑level (restaurant, market, regional, divisional) marketing strategies that align with brand standards and drive sales, traffic, and brand awareness. Oversees Regional Leaders of Marketing, manages budgets, evaluates ROI, and collaborates cross‑functionally to support growth and new market entry.
**Expectations**
- Provide strategic direction and measurable results across a large geographic area.
- Lead, coach, and expand a high‑performing restaurant marketing team.
- Maintain fiscal discipline while maximizing ROI on media, sponsorships, and grassroots initiatives.
- Travel up to 70% of the time to engage with markets, restaurants, and stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with internal leaders, external partners, and frontline staff.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement marketing plans at restaurant, market, regional, and divisional levels.
- Partner with Director of Media Planning to deploy DMA‑specific strategies and provide market insights.
- Analyze sales, traffic, and performance data with FP&A to inform budget adjustments and growth opportunities.
- Develop and control a detailed marketing budget covering all restaurant‑level spend.
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach marketing team members; reinforce brand philosophy.
- Align marketing priorities with Divisional Leader of Restaurants and other functional leaders.
- Conduct on‑site market visits to assess execution and adjust plans.
- Ensure program effectiveness through ROI methodology, consistent execution, and follow‑up.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and manage regional sponsorships and community partnerships.
- Collaborate with RSO Marketing to implement systems, campaigns, and programs.
- Leverage customer insights to create targeted grassroots and community marketing initiatives.
**Required Skills**
- 10+ years progressive marketing experience, including field/trade‑area marketing in multi‑unit restaurant or retail environments.
- Proven leadership of large, remote teams with multiple direct reports.
- Expertise in media planning, sponsorship negotiation, and impact assessment.
- Experience launching new restaurants and entering new markets.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret sales and traffic data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong presentation abilities.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and adept at managing shifting priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Self‑driven, energetic, and collaborative.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 70%).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree required; Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
