Job Description
Job Title: Business Development Manager Role Summary: Designs, implements, and optimises firm‑wide business development and marketing strategies to attract and retain target clients across key practice areas in Paris and Brussels, supporting regional and cross‑office initiatives. Expectations: * Deliver measurable growth in client acquisition and revenue. * Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and brand consistency. * Act as the primary BD liaison for Paris and Brussels, coordinating with practice leaders, marketing, events, and public relations. Key Responsibilities: * Identify and prioritise target clients; develop go‑to‑market plans and marketing materials (pitches, RFPs, proposals). * Lead the creation and delivery of dynamic, client‑facing presentations and proposals. * Manage directory submissions, league rankings, and database accuracy for the two offices. * Collaborate with fee earners and LPAs to optimise CVs and case profiles. * Partner with the events team to plan, execute, and follow‑up on client events and speaking engagements. * Work with PR to publish case and deal announcements on the firm’s website. * Recommend and secure conferences, speaking opportunities, and networking events to enhance market visibility. * Build agendas and facilitate internal knowledge‑sharing sessions to showcase office work. * Coordinate with regional BD teams on joint projects and international initiatives. * Support onboarding and integration of new lawyers in Paris and Brussels. * Translate marketing content between English and French, ensuring accuracy and tone. * Serve as first point of contact for BD and marketing requests. * Line‑manage a coordinator based in Paris, providing direction and development. Required Skills: * Bilingual fluency in French and English (oral, written, presentation). * Extensive experience in business development and marketing within professional services or consultancy; law‑firm experience preferred. * Strong project management, strategic thinking, and commercial acumen. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, dispersed environment. * Excellent communication, diplomacy, and client‑service orientation. * High attention to detail and organisational skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and relationship/experience‑management databases. * Previous line‑management experience. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, law, or related field. * Professional certifications relevant to BD or marketing are an asset.
