Job Description
**Job Title:** General Operative – Night Shift **Role Summary:** Perform hands‑on production and fabrication tasks during night hours in a large‑scale manufacturing environment. Support the Senior Production Manager in meeting output, quality, and safety targets while maintaining a clean and organized work area. **Expactations:** - Reliable attendance on night shift schedule. - Adherence to health, safety, and quality standards. - Ability to follow detailed work instructions and respond promptly to production demands. - Strong teamwork and communication with supervisors and fellow operatives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Operate and assist with fabrication equipment (e.g., CNC machines, saws, drills, overhead cranes). - Load, unload, and move raw materials and finished components safely. - Perform basic assembly, cutting, welding, and finishing tasks as directed. - Conduct routine equipment checks, report faults, and assist with minor maintenance. - Keep workstations tidy, manage waste, and maintain 5S standards. - Follow documented work orders, record production data, and report progress to the Senior Production Manager. - Observe and enforce all safety protocols, including the use of PPE and lock‑out/tag‑out procedures. **Required Skills:** - Physical stamina for manual handling and standing for extended periods. - Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools. - Ability to read simple technical drawings or work instructions. - Good eye for detail and commitment to quality workmanship. - Effective communication in English; ability to work collaboratively in a team. - Flexibility to work night hours and overtime as required. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: GCSE/High School Diploma or equivalent. - Relevant safety training (e.g., CSCS, CPCS, or OSHA/NEBOSH awareness) preferred. - Certifications in welding, forklift operation, or similar trade skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
