Job Description
**Job Title:** Network Architect **Role Summary:** Senior network professional responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of voice, video, and data communication systems. Provides subject‑matter expertise, leads complex network projects, mentors staff, and ensures alignment with security, performance, and scalability objectives. **Expectations:** - Deliver end‑to‑end network solutions that meet business and security requirements. - Maintain operational reliability, capacity, and performance of critical information systems. - Provide technical leadership in a 24/7 environment and mentor junior network engineers. - Lead project planning, execution, and delivery within budget and schedule. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and architect LAN/WAN, data center, and cloud‑based networks (Cisco routers/switches, NX‑OS, IOS). - Deploy, test, and troubleshoot network components (BGP, OSPF, IPSEC, MPLS, QoS, VoIP, WAN, wireless). - Perform capacity analysis, performance tuning, and scalability assessments. - Automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency. - Enforce information security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SASE, and AD integration. - Maintain inventory, patching, cross‑connect best practices, and documentation. - Lead project initiatives, coordinate with global carriers, and manage vendors. - Conduct briefings and communicate technical roadmaps to IT and business leadership. **Required Skills:** - 6‑8+ years in network architecture/engineering with focus on LAN/WAN, Cisco, and data center design. - Expertise in Cisco routing/switching, NX‑OS/IOS, BGP, IPSEC, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, VoIP, WAN, wireless, and cloud networking. - Strong knowledge of network security (firewall, IDS/IPS, SASE, AD, TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP). - Experience with network load balancing platforms and capacity planning. - Proficiency in performance tuning, automation, and 24/7 incident response. - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP/CCIE) preferred; additional security or cloud certifications advantageous. - Master’s degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
