**Job Title** Mammography Technologist (PRN/Pool) **Role Summary** Provide high‑quality breast imaging services—including mammography, stereotactic biopsy, and breast ultrasound—while ensuring compliance with MQSA and ACR guidelines. Operate and maintain imaging equipment, perform quality control, and coordinate patient care within a collaborative radiology department. **Expactations** - Deliver accurate, timely breast imaging studies for all patients. - Adhere strictly to safety protocols and radiation dose limits. - Maintain clear communication with patients, technicians, and referring physicians. - Participate in continuous education and maintain required certifications. - Contribute to departmental workflow efficiency and inventory management. **Key Responsibilities** - Verify patient requisition and clinical indication for each examination. - Perform mammography, stereotactic, and ultrasound breast studies with proper positioning and exposure. - Conduct safety checks and quality control of imaging equipment per MQSA/ACR standards. - Document study findings and communicate pertinent information to radiologists and referring clinicians. - Schedule and coordinate breast imaging appointments, ensuring smooth patient flow. - Manage medical supplies inventory and assist in departmental cost control. - Educate patients on breast health and imaging procedures. - Orient new staff and assist in credentialing processes. - Maintain HIPAA compliance and secure patient data. **Required Skills** - Proficient knowledge of breast anatomy, pathology, and radiation safety. - Skilled in mammography, stereotactic biopsy, breast ultrasound, and contrast usage. - Ability to operate mammography equipment and interpret technical images. - Strong communication and patient‑education abilities. - Organizational skills for scheduling, workflow coordination, and inventory oversight. - Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer/typing skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - ARRT certification with Mammography (M) endorsement. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. - Must obtain any additional computer‑based competency training within 90 days of hire. - Bilingual language skills not required; English proficiency essential. ---
