Reliability Engineering Intern – Database Development
**Role Summary:**
Support the Quality & Reliability team by designing, implementing, and maintaining a centralized database for semiconductor reliability data. Build automated data ingestion pipelines, create visual analytics tools, and ensure data integrity to provide actionable insights for reliability testing and failure analysis projects.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver a functional relational database and associated ETL processes within the internship period.
- Collaborate closely with reliability, test, and product engineering teams to capture and model data requirements.
- Produce dashboards, reports, and documentation that enable cross‑functional stakeholders to track yield, failure rates, and burn‑in outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong ownership of data quality, version control, and secure access while working independently and in a fast‑paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Design database schema for wafer‑level results, test metrics, failure analysis reports, and component tracking.
2. Develop ETL scripts or APIs to ingest data from lab equipment, test systems, and spreadsheets (STDF, CSV, JSON).
3. Build automated workflows to validate, transform, and load data into the database.
4. Create visualizations and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, or Python libraries) for trend analysis and reporting.
5. Ensure data integrity, implement version control, and enforce secure user access.
6. Document database structure, data flow diagrams, and operational guidelines.
7. Provide data insights and analytic support for ongoing reliability projects.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (or equivalent) for database design and automation.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, Seaborn).
- Familiarity with semiconductor reliability testing concepts (HTOL, HAST, ESD, TDDB, electromigration) is a strong plus.
- Understanding of semiconductor test data formats (STDF, CSV, JSON).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic setting.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- No specific certifications required.
