Job Description
Job title: Structural Engineering Co‑op (Summer 2026) Role Summary: Summer co‑op placement focusing on the design, calculation, and documentation of building structural systems, including steel, concrete, mass timber, and masonry. The role supports multiple projects in design and construction phases, providing hands‑on experience and mentorship in a collaborative environment. Expectations: * Complete ≥ 2 years of coursework toward a bachelor’s in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering. * Maintain a cumulative GPA ≥ 3.00. * Demonstrate independence, rapid skill acquisition, strong observational skills, and teamwork. * Engage actively with senior engineers and contribute to project deliverables. Key Responsibilities: 1. Perform supervised design calculations and element design for steel, concrete, mass timber, and masonry structures. 2. Produce sketches, drawings, and documentation to communicate design concepts. 3. Review construction documents, interpret specifications, and support construction activities. 4. Participate in field visits or investigations to observe construction progress. 5. Prepare field reports summarizing onsite observations. 6. Assist with research, coordination, and other assigned duties as needed.
