Job Description: Job Title: Business Data Analyst – Snowflake & Workday Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain Snowflake data models, pipelines, and reports for an insurance services organization undergoing a cloud data transformation and a Workday implementation. Serve as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring high‑quality data solutions that deliver measurable business value. Expectations: - Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Snowflake data models and reports. - Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards. - Provide actionable insights and ad‑hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Capture, refine, and document business and technical requirements for Snowflake data warehouses, reports, and dashboards. - Design and maintain optimized Snowflake star schemas and other data models to support reliable analytics. - Evaluate existing reports, identify data gaps, and recommend improvements within the Snowflake model. - Investigate and resolve data integrity or reporting issues, ensuring timely resolution and documentation. - Deliver ad‑hoc datasets and insights using Snowflake’s advanced capabilities while promoting best practices. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of data flows, mappings, and processes. - Adhere to data governance frameworks, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. Required Skills: - Strong SQL proficiency for querying, analysis, and troubleshooting in Snowflake. - Hands‑on experience with Snowflake environments and source‑to‑target mapping. - Understanding of ETL/ELT processes for data integration into Snowflake. - Knowledge of Workday and Salesforce data mappings and migrations. - Ability to capture stakeholder requirements and translate them into actionable data specifications. - Analytical mindset with attention to detail and focus on business value delivery. - Familiarity with insurance or financial services data (claims, policies, premiums) is advantageous. - Exposure to cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) supporting Snowflake deployments. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field. - Business Analysis certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) or equivalent LM1 qualification is preferred.
