Job Description
**Job Title:** Systems Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead the design, development, and integration of marine navigation and bridge systems for government and naval customers. Manage full systems engineering lifecycle, ensuring compliance with military and IMO standards, and deliver high‑quality technical solutions on schedule and within budget. **Expectations:** - Act as technical lead on multi‑disciplinary projects. - Maintain traceable requirements and deliverables. - Manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk. - Secure and maintain relevant security clearance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist senior engineers in concept design and RFQ proposal development. - Develop system architecture, functional analysis, interfaces, and trade studies. - Author SSDD, ICD, and SRS documents. - Perform requirement analysis, traceability, and maintenance. - Identify, analyze, and resolve program deficiencies; recommend corrective actions. - Ensure design meets military and IMO standards and other regulatory requirements. - Participate in design reviews, system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests at customer sites. - Write acceptance test procedures. - Manage scope of work, estimate effort/costs, identify technical risks, and communicate status to management. **Required Skills:** - Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards, and best practices. - Expertise in marine navigation, tactical sensors, and bridge system integration. - Experience with network design and architecture. - Proficient with requirements/verification tools (e.g., DOORS). - Understanding of safety engineering and human‑factors considerations. - Excellent written and verbal communication; strong interpersonal and project management skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Minimum 4 years engineering experience, with at least 3 years in Systems Engineering. - Eligible for Professional Engineer registration in Canada (preferred). - Capability to obtain and maintain a security clearance relevant to the location.
