**Job Title**
Systems and Data Center Engineer / Administrator (N1/N2)
**Role Summary**
Responsible for the real‑time supervision, operation, and maintenance of RTE’s data centers, IT systems, and business applications. Works within the newly formed Centre Opérationnel Réseaux et Systèmes Numériques (CORS‑N) to ensure continuous availability, performance, and security of critical infrastructure.
**Expectations**
- Operate and manage 24/7 data center environments with delegated shift schedules.
- Deliver high‑quality, proactive incident and problem management, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Deploy, configure, and support new systems and services while coordinating with engineering and business teams.
- Participate in capacity planning, risk assessment, and disaster‑recovery strategy development.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Supervise day‑to‑day operations of all RTE data centers and IT systems.
2. Monitor system performance, anticipate constraints (high‑load, obsolescence), and mitigate incidents.
3. Detect, analyze, and resolve real‑time events and incidents, coordinating with network operations staff.
4. Administer and operate data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, backup, monitoring, databases, and security tools.
5. Liaise with engineering departments on application‑related technical issues.
6. Deploy new systems, services, and upgrades; conduct scheduled maintenance and corrective/ evolutionary operations.
7. Conduct independent or team‑based IT impact, risk, and incident analyses to define operating and recovery strategies.
**Required Skills**
- Strong proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Expertise in virtualization technologies, storage, backup, monitoring, database administration, and security frameworks.
- Experience with 24/7 data center supervision and incident resolution.
- Ability to assess performance, capacity constraints, and system reliability.
- Analytical skills for root‑cause determination and risk management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for teamwork and stakeholder communication.
- Proactive, service‑oriented mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Minimum of a Master’s degree (BAC+5) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- At least 2 years of proven experience in 24/7 data center supervision and administration.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Red Hat RHCE, VMware VCP) are advantageous but not mandatory.
