Job Description
Job title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Engineer software for embedded radio and test‑system products, including design, coding, unit testing, integration support, documentation, and code review activities. Expactations: Deliver high‑quality, reliable code that meets technical specifications; collaborate across engineering, testing, and customer teams; provide informal mentorship to junior staff; contribute to process improvement and maintain Security Clearance. Key Responsibilities: - Perform detailed design and software development using C, C#, or C++. - Write, unit test, and debug code for embedded and host‑side applications. - Support Test & Acceptance team: integration testing, test‑plan creation, test‑execution, and reporting. - Produce technical documentation and participate in design/code reviews. - Offer ideas within current technical frameworks and guide junior engineers. Required Skills: - Proficiency in C, C#, or C++ programming. - Experience in embedded software design and implementation. - Development experience in Windows or Linux environments. - Basic knowledge of network technologies. - Strong logical problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills. - Customer‑oriented, self‑motivated, flexible, hands‑on approach. Required Education & Certifications: - 1st or 2:1 class degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline; solid A Level (or equivalent) mathematics and science achievements. - Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance (mandatory).
