Junior Cybersecurity Consultant

Job Description

**Job Title:** Junior Cybersecurity Consultant **Role Summary:** Assist clients in achieving cybersecurity maturity by delivering CMMC and NIST‑based consulting services. Conduct assessments, produce security documentation, and support implementation of controls in a fast‑paced, client‑focused environment. **Expectations:** - Minimum 2 years relevant cybersecurity experience. - Ability to travel overnight for on‑site assessments in the Northeastern U.S. and conduct virtual assessments. - Strong written and verbal communication; proactive, collaborative mindset. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform on‑site gap assessments (MA, CT, NY) and virtual assessments. - Act as virtual note‑taker for lead consultants during assessments. - Draft System Security Plans (SSP) and Plans of Action & Milestones (POA M). - Review and edit assessment reports prepared by peers. - Assist in creating network diagrams and cybersecurity policies. - Contribute to client cybersecurity program development and GRC consulting. **Required Skills:** - Knowledge of NIST frameworks (CSF, 800‑53, 800‑171, 800‑30). - In‑depth understanding of CMMC model and related security domains (program management, risk, IAM, zero‑trust, incident response). - Familiarity with networking, cloud services, RMM, EDR, MDR/SIEM, IAM, security awareness training, and vulnerability management tools. - Excellent written and oral communication; active listening. - Growth mindset, positive attitude, client‑centric collaboration, initiative and resourcefulness. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent work experience). - One of the following entry‑level cybersecurity certifications: (ISC)² CC, CompTIA Security+, or Google Cybersecurity Certificate. - Preferred: Cyber‑AB CMMC Certified Professional (CCP) or Registered Practitioner (RP).
