Job Description
**SOC Analyst II** **Role Summary** Monitors and analyzes IT infrastructure for security threats. Detects, investigates, and responds to cyber incidents using security tools and incident response protocols. Enhances organizational security through risk assessments, policy development, and threat intelligence. **Expectations** Minimum 2 years of Security Operations Center (SOC) or cybersecurity experience. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, or related field. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in high-pressure environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills. **Key Responsibilities** - Monitor security logs/alerts for suspicious activity and triage incidents. - Investigate and document security events, escalating critical threats to senior analysts. - Execute incident response playbooks to mitigate attacks and restore systems. - Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and risk analyses. - Develop, implement, and maintain security policies and operational procedures. - Administer SOC tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint detection systems). - Provide technical training and mentorship to junior SOC team members. - Support rotational on-call schedule for after-hours incident response. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, ArcSight), IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners. - Advanced analytical capabilities for threat detection and forensic analysis. - Knowledge of incident response frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK). - Cybersecurity threat landscape awareness and mitigation strategies. **Required Education & Certifications** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline. Equivalent experience may substitute for formal education. No specified certifications required.
