**Job title**
Personnel Security Manager
**Role Summary**
Leads the design, implementation, and management of personnel security programs to ensure compliance with federal regulations and industry standards. Coordinates background investigations, clearance processes, training, and incident response, while collaborating with HR, security teams, and external partners.

- Deliver a robust personnel security posture that satisfies all regulatory and contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date security clearance records and ensure timely renewals.
- Provide expert guidance on handling sensitive security information and responding to incidents.
- Foster a culture of security awareness through briefings and training initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Develop, update, and enforce personnel security policies, procedures, and programs.
2. Manage security clearances, background investigations, and vetting of new and existing personnel.
3. Coordinate with HR, management, and security teams to address personnel security needs.
4. Conduct and deliver security briefings and training sessions on personnel security practices.
5. Monitor, track, and report on clearance renewals, updates, and compliance status.
6. Investigate personnel security incidents, breaches, and corrective actions.
7. Maintain personnel security records, databases, and documentation per federal requirements.
8. Ensure adherence to NISPOM, ICD 704, and other relevant regulations.
9. Manage security‑related training requirements and certification records.
**Required Skills**
- In-depth knowledge of personnel security policies, background checks, and clearance processes.
- Strong understanding of NISPOM, ICD 704, and related federal regulations.
- Experience with DISS, NBIS, and other personnel security record systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in managing complex security programs and conducting investigations.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of personnel security management or equivalent security experience.
- TS/SCI security clearance (current).
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations and industry best practices in personnel security.
