Job Description
**Job Title** Data Engineering Internship (Shopify / Lightspeed / BigQuery) **Role Summary** Design, implement, and document a scalable data architecture on Google Cloud Platform. Integrate data from Shopify and Lightspeed K Series into BigQuery, prepare the foundation for analytical dashboards in Looker Studio. **Expectations** - Deliver a fully structured BigQuery database with clear logical model. - Populate and maintain data pipelines from existing e‑commerce sources. - Enable downstream analytics and reporting. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design and create BigQuery schemas based on existing Shopify and Lightspeed data flows. 2. Build and document ETL processes to ingest and transform data. 3. Extend data ingestion with custom Shopify metafields and additional product/customer attributes. 4. Prepare data models for use in Looker Studio dashboards. 5. Validate data quality, performance, and consistency. 6. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs. **Required Skills** - Strong SQL proficiency. - Experience with relational or data warehouse modeling. - Familiarity with Google BigQuery. - Knowledge of Shopify API and Lightspeed K Series data structures. - Exposure to Looker Studio or similar BI tools. - Basic ETL concepts (e.g., data pipeline design, scheduling). - Self‑driven, analytical mindset, and strong documentation habits. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current student in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field (Bac+3 to Bac+5). - No formal certifications required, but knowledge of GCP BigQuery or Shopify API courses is a plus.
