Job Description
Job Title: Operations Coordinator Role Summary: Lead and support a team of bus drivers, ensuring high‑quality public transport service through proactive management, performance monitoring, and compliance with regulations, policies, collective agreements, and safety standards. Act as the primary liaison between drivers, supervisors, and organizational stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and project ownership. Expectations: - Deliver consistent, reliable operations aligned with organizational goals. - Model a supportive leadership style that prioritizes driver well‑being, engagement, and professional growth. - Maintain robust documentation and reporting of performance metrics. - Foster a culture of safety, health, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise daily operations of bus drivers, ensuring adherence to schedules, route compliance, and service quality. - Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and develop corrective actions as needed. - Interpret and apply collective agreements, policies, and safety regulations to all staffing decisions. - Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for assigned units and implement improvement initiatives. - Coordinate and participate in cross‑departmental committees and projects. - Communicate proactively with drivers, addressing concerns, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive work environment. - Ensure accurate record‑keeping, data entry, and reporting using organizational information systems. Required Skills: - Proven team‑leadership and people‑management abilities in a unionised environment. - Strong verbal and written communication in French; English proficiency is a plus. - Ability to interpret collective bargaining agreements and apply them pragmatically. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business software. - Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement. - Analytical mindset for KPI tracking and performance improvement. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Management, or related field. - Minimum of 3 years of personnel management experience in a unionised workplace (equivalent education plus experience accepted). ---
