Job Description: Job Title: Student Intern – Cyber Policy & Authorizations Role Summary: A 10‑week internship focused on developing and reviewing cybersecurity policies, standards, guidance, and authorization documentation for a national security cyber operations environment. The intern supports the assessment and authorization process, maintains security documentation, identifies emerging threats, and prepares reports and presentations. Expectations: • Complete at least sophomore coursework and maintain a minimum 2.8 GPA. • Be a U.S. citizen with the potential to obtain a DOE Q clearance. • Submit resume and current transcript. • Attend a 10‑week program with project work, workshops, and professional development. Key Responsibilities: • Research, analyze, and draft cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines. • Assist in preparing system security plans (SSPs) and other authorization documentation. • Participate in the assessment and authorization (A&A) process for information systems. • Update and maintain cybersecurity documentation, including risk assessments. • Identify emerging cybersecurity threats and policy gaps. • Collaborate with cyber professionals on risk management, compliance, and governance projects. • Prepare presentations and reports on policy and authorization activities. Required Skills: • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk assessment, and policy development. • Strong analytical and research abilities. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team setting. Required Education & Certifications: • Current enrollment or completion within two years of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity. • No specific certifications required, but familiarity with NIST CSF or ISO 27001 preferred.
