Job Description
Job title: Youth Engagement Worker (contractor) Role Summary: Contractor Youth Engagement Worker will design and deliver safe, inclusive engagement sessions for young partners in secure (Feltham YOI, HMYPIO Isis) and community settings. The role involves building trusting relationships, supporting Peer Leaders, and co‑creating projects that empower youth, while ensuring safeguarding, welfare and accurate record‑keeping. Expectations: * Delivery of high‑quality, well‑facilitated engagement sessions in secure and community environments. * Active support of Peer Leaders in project design and implementation. * Consistent upkeep of session notes, attendance, outcomes and compliance records. * Maintenance of safeguarding, risk management and inclusion standards. * Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and occasional remote days as required. Key Responsibilities: - **Youth Engagement & Support**: co‑create workshops, sustain supportive relationships, conduct group and one‑to‑one sessions, capture session outcomes. - **Well‑being & Safeguarding**: provide consistent support, prioritise safeguarding, promote tolerance and inclusion, manage risk. - **Project Delivery & Administration**: assist in recruitment, induction and training of Peer Leaders, record attendance and impact, collaborate with partners, support DBS, safeguarding and health‑safety compliance. - **Teamwork & Contribution**: collaborate with Youth Engagement Team, participate in reflective practice and supervision, uphold organisational values, adjust schedule for session delivery. Required Skills: * Experience working with young people in secure, care or justice settings. * Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, trauma‑informed practice and wellbeing strategies. * Strong facilitation, communication and relationship‑building abilities. * Capability to plan and deliver engaging group activities and individual support. * Proficient in maintaining accurate records and administrative tasks. * Flexibility to work varied hours and environments. Required Education & Certifications: * Relevant qualification in youth work, social work, criminal justice or equivalent (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work). * Current DBS check and background clearance. * Evidence of health‑safety and safeguarding training.
