Job Description
**Job title:** Solution Developer **Role Summary:** 12‑month contract Solution Developer focused on the integration and development of tactical military communication systems for BAE Systems. Deliver end‑to‑end solutions on site, collaborating with engineering, test, and operations teams to meet strict operational standards. **Expectations:** • Work onsite, Monday‑Friday, 37 hours weekly. • Produce high‑quality code and integration workflows within defined schedule. • Communicate progress to stakeholders, support knowledge transfer, and meet regulatory compliance. **Key Responsibilities:** • Design, develop, and integrate software modules for tactical comms platforms. • Configure and test system interfaces, protocols, and data links. • Troubleshoot and resolve defects in development and production environments. • Document design decisions, test cases, and user guides. • Ensure compliance with security and quality standards, including IR35 considerations. • Collaborate with hardware engineers, network specialists, and system integrators. **Required Skills:** • Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Java for embedded/real‑time systems. • Experience with communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, MIL-STD‑1553, CAN, LTE/5G). • Familiarity with Linux/RTOS environments. • Strong debugging, unit‑testing, and integration testing skills. • Knowledge of secure coding practices and system hardening. • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to produce clear technical documentation. **Required Education & Certifications:** • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. • Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent in secure communications is desirable.
