Job Description

**Job Title:** Data Scientist **Role Summary:** Develop and optimize data‑science models for energy market forecasting and optimization, supporting renewable and battery storage power providers worldwide. **Expectations:** - Prototype innovative solutions and extend existing models for clean‑tech power analytics. - Translate domain problems into machine‑learning approaches, improving performance and computational efficiency. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, evaluate, automate, optimize, and monitor new data‑science models and algorithms. - Experiment with deep learning, regression, boosting, tree‑based, and other modeling techniques in Python. - Research state‑of‑the‑art methods applicable to energy forecasting. - Develop new model features in collaboration with subject‑matter experts. - Optimize algorithmic efficiency and software design for production use. - Build prototype models and production software; support existing commercial systems. - Apply statistical and finance algorithms, stochastic search, and simulation of high wind/solar penetration scenarios. - Optimize generation under uncertainty and plan/control battery storage. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Python; NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch. - Experience with time‑series modeling, advanced statistics, and machine‑learning techniques. - Strong programming (clean, maintainable code) and computational‑efficiency mindset. - Excellent communication (verbal and written) and teamwork skills. - Ability to learn quickly and apply novel software solutions. - Preferred: knowledge or strong interest in wholesale electricity markets, energy systems, and market modeling. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Power Systems, or related field. - Minimum 1 year of academic or industry experience in data science, machine learning, or related analytical work.
