Job Description
Job title: Machine Learning Engineer Role Summary: Design, develop, and deploy end‑to‑end machine learning systems that power autonomous perception, decision‑making, and control for on‑demand delivery robots. Work closely with hardware, simulation, and safety teams to build scalable, production‑ready models that ingest multi‑sensor data and improve robot‑to‑pilot ratios in urban logistics. Expactations: - Deliver robust perception and motion planning models that operate reliably in dynamic city environments. - Achieve measurable improvements in autonomy efficiency, accuracy, and safety compliance. - Lead or mentor a high‑performance ML/autonomy team and contribute to technical strategy. Key Responsibilities: - Architect and implement ML pipelines for object detection, sensor fusion, SLAM, path planning, and real‑time control. - Build and maintain data ingestion, labeling, and preprocessing workflows for LiDAR, camera, radar, and other sensors. - Train, optimize, and deploy deep learning models (CNNs, semantic segmentation, object detectors) using simulation and real‑world data. - Develop simulation environments to test edge cases and integrate software with vehicle hardware. - Ensure autopilot systems meet safety standards (ISO 26262, UL 4600) and implement redundancy mechanisms. - Recruit, mentor, and lead ML/autonomy talent, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Required Skills: - 2+ years in machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or autonomous systems. - Proven experience training and deploying production‑grade neural networks for perception and control. - Deep knowledge of autonomous driving algorithms: SfM, SLAM, large‑scale mapping, RL, imitation learning, neural rendering. - Expertise with vision architectures (CNNs, YOLO, Mask‑RCNN, semantic segmentation) and PyTorch. - Strong programming in Python and C++; experience optimizing large‑scale models for cloud/edge deployment. - Familiarity with ROS, CAN bus, and low‑level system integration. - Leadership and clear communication abilities in cross‑functional teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field. - Certification or hands‑on experience with autonomous vehicle frameworks (Autoware, Apollo) is preferred.
